University of Hyderabad in cooperation with Centre for Contemporary India Research and Studies organized IV International Research group meeting of Consortium on “India: Emerging Economic Power – Quest for EU and World Economic Order” from 2-4 November 2011. Around 30 scholars from Europe and India took part in the conference. Professor Ramakrishna Ramaswamy (Vice-Chancellor of University of Hyderabad),Mr Pavel Svitil ( Head of EU Delegation in India), Minister Piotr Opaliński (Embassy of Poland), ·Representative from EU Delegation in India, ·Dr Jakub Zajączkowski (chairperson of centre for Contemporary India Research and Studies)and·· Professor J. Prabhakara Rao (Coordinator, Centre for Study of Foreign Languages, University of Hyderabad) were present in the opening ceremony of the program. ·Professor Y.V. Reddy (former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and Emeritus Professor, University of Hyderabad) was the key note speaker and he presented his views about India Economy and World Economy at turn of XXI Century. The major focus of the conference was India and its economic development, major challenges and prospects. professors, policy makers, government officials, Ph.D and MA students participated in the conference.
