MA in Contemporary India
The establishment of the MA in Contemporary India was one of the Programme “Supporting the Creation of New Contemporary Study Centers in India and in the EU” stated aims. The Centre for Contemporary India Research and Studies in the Institute of International Relations has been given the mission of elaborating and disseminating a new multi-dimensional approach to methodology for India MA and PhD studies. The CCIRS (in cooperation with the Warsaw University) is the first research centre in Central Europe to offer interdisciplinary MA courses in Contemporary India Business and Politics, combining political, socio-economic, cultural and civic dimensions.
The process of preparation of the MA programme (taught in Polish from October 2012 and in English from October 2013) consists of actions taken over the next two years and has three stages:
- preparation of syllabi in six research teams headed by renowned professors;
- a gradual implementation of syllabi to Asian Programme at the Institute of International Relations, UW;
- implementation of a two-year degree programme in English in Contemporary India Business and Politics in October in 2012 in the Institute of International Relations.
